I think everybody loves an invitation. It makes us feel included, like someone cares, like we are a part of something. We are not left out. It's the same thing when it comes to our faith. It may be hard to do, but to invite someone in to the story of Christ to take their place is actually a high honor. Your asking people to step in to the destiny that God has for them. There is no higher sense of belonging than to be invited into the story of our Creator. Often times we think that we're pushing people or even pestering them, but the truth is if we do it right we're just inviting them in to God's family to be a part of something that God had always intended them to be. We're helping them discover their true selves.
We need to take some time and rethink what witnessing to our friends really means. It's not telling them about Jesus Christ per say, but rather an invitation to true life. Jesus said that he came so that we might have life to the fullest. Therefore to not know Christ means we aren't living that full life. When we share Christ we are sharing true unfiltered life as it was always meant to be for someone. His story, his life has that kind of power. Don't forget that when your afraid to tell someone about Christ. Your not trying to get someone saved, but rather handing them the greatest invitation in the universe. The choice is there's whether or not they will show up and accept it.
